Register To Vote:
New Yorkers must register to vote by certain deadlines to be eligible to vote in Village, Primary, Special, and General Elections. There are also deadlines for making changes to your registration, such as changes to address or enrollment.

November 4, 2025 General Election Deadlines:
Mail Registration
  • Applications must be received by a board of elections no later than October 25, 2025 to be eligible to vote in the General Election.
In Person Registration
  • ​​​You may register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year but, to be eligible to vote in the General Election, your application must be received no later than October 25, 2025.

Early Voting:
Early Voting will begin prior to the General Election. The early voting period will be from Saturday, October 25, 2025 through Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Days and Hours as follows:
  • Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Monday, October 27, 2025 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Friday, October 31, 2025 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Early Mail Ballot:
Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Each person must apply for themselves. It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an early mail ballot, to attempt to cast an illegal ballot, or to help anyone to cast an illegal ballot.

Absentee Ballot:
Qualifications to Vote by Absentee Ballot:
  1. Absent from your county or, if a resident of New York City absent from the five boroughs, on Election Day.
  2. Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability.
  3. Unable to appear because you are the primary care giver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled.
  4. A resident or patient of a Veterans Health Administration Hospital.
  5. In jail or prison for any reason other than a felony conviction. This includes anyone who is awaiting grand jury action, awaiting trial, or serving a sentence for a misdemeanor.

Become an Election Worker:
Free and open elections are the basis on which this country was formed and you can make a difference by becoming an election inspector to help protect those freedoms. Westchester County is always in need of Election Inspectors willing to work at one of various polling sites on Election Day. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus.

Know Your Voting Rights:

Federal law guarantees your right to cast a ballot even if someone says you are not eligible. If you are qualified to vote and registered in the jurisdiction, do not leave the polling place without at least voting a provisional ballot.
