Somers Democratic Committee Chairperson, Christine Robbins and Somers Republican Committee Chairman Jim Chisholm have announced that their respective Committees have unanimously agreed to cross-endorse Somers Councilmen Richard Clinchy and Thomas Garrity for re-election to the Somers Town Board.
Chairman Christine Robbins stated: “The Somers Democratic Committee and I are pleased to endorse Councilman Richard Clinchy and cross-endorse Councilman Thomas Garrity. We agree that Councilmen Richard Clinchy and Thomas Garrity have performed in the best interests of the residents of Somers and that both have a great deal more to offer and deserve re-election to the Somers Town Board. There is a time for political debate and a time for bi-partisan unity. Both parties are willing to stand firm when it’s a matter of principle, but we are also willing to work together when it’s in the best interest of the town. This is one of those times.”
“With the announcement that Somers Town Clerk Kathy Pacella will not be running for re-election, the Somers Democratic Committee has endorsed Somers Deputy Clerk Patti Kalba for Somers Town Clerk. We thank Kathy Pacella for all of the outstanding years of service that she has provided for our town. We have also endorsed Somers Highway Superintendent Thomas Chiaverini.”
“The Somers Democratic Committee unanimously and with great fervor endorsed, County Legislator incumbent Chairman Michael Kaplowitz. Chairman Kaplowitz has established a superb record of protecting the interests of the residents of the 4th Legislative District, as well as the interests of Westchester County as a whole. I am proud that Chairman Kaplowitz is a resident of our town. He is an outstanding and influential County Legislator and he certainly deserves re-election.”
